Model Dies In Hollywood - Almost!

Omg! Today was a day that will change the rest of my life forever.

Shortly after posting my ramblings about V-day i got up from bed and into the kitchen as i seemed to be super parched. Felt slightly dizzy as i stumbled off toward the bathroom. Was i blacking out? Dunno. Fuzzy. Sitting there peeing i completely faded out. From here i mostly only know what happened next by hearing the frightening second-account from my bf who thankfully revived me by CPR.

I vaguely recall being wheeled into the ambulance and arriving at the emergency room at Hollywood Presbyterian. After hours of being hooked up to saline, heart monitors and a battery of misc test the conclusion of the episode turned out to be dehydration.

How could this be? Well, seems the hardcore training I've been doing of late, jogging up to Runyon Canyon Park, then up and around twice and back home. Always drinking lots of fluids. Always trying to keep in mind that all this hard work is for a super fit body and subconsciously thinking about how i (supposedly) needed to lose a few inches off my ass to appease some of the modeling industry.

Yess, this video clip is really me getting wheeled from the ambulance into the emergency room this morning...

Girls: If you're in the modeling industry already or are trying to be.... PLEASE.... be super careful with your body and taking advice to just 'lose a couple inches' so you'll maybe get signed or your agency will maybe be able to book more work for you or whatever. Sometimes there are severe consequences to your health, even if you believe that you're perfectly healthy. I'm a perfect example of what could happen, even to a very athletic 20-year old girl with no prior health issues whatsoever. I've been a competitive athlete most of my life. I'm still in shock that something like this could happen to ME. Listen to yourself and YOUR body rather than taking advice from those in the modeling industry whose advice is more money-based rather than based on sound medical knowledge. Consult your doctor not your booker.

It freaks me out right now to even imagine how this day would have turned out had I been home alone. ugh. I might now be posting this blog right now. That is reality.

St. Valentine's Day massacre!

Yess, it was a massacre but not the notorious blood-bath that immediately comes to mind. No, this is a massacre of a very large mountain of Japanese food!

Let us all be reminded that making reservations for a nice Valentine's dinner is a must. Unfortunately for us, we didn't think it all that necessary with the seemingly hundreds of lovely restaurants nearby here in Hollywood.

First choice was Koji's Japan for some Shabu Shabu @ the Hollywood & Highland complex. Full, of course. Strolling down the Blvd determined to have a romantic V-day dinner, we slide into Geisha House.... no dice. Seating reservations only. Continuing on towards Hollywood & Vine..., oh there's Beso. ..also full. ugh. Rounding the corner, look... there's Katsuya ... lol... don't even think about it. Not tonight, anyways.

Just when it couldn't look any more bleak... how about Kabuki? Looks kinda full. Two hot Latinas in front of us requesting a table for four. hmmm. there's only two of them. wtf? We're hungrier than hostages. The hostess returns and seats us immediately. Nice. A couple Mai Tai's and a huge boat (yess, i said 'boat'), of a whole variety of yummy food and we're stuffed in no time. Check please. Turns out the two hotties sitting just across from us were waiting for blind dates who finally showed up fashionably late (clearly strangers as they all shook hands as people do meeting for the first time). Interesting. Seems to me they all did pretty good, though. :) Wait, are those boys twins? haha.

Nice dinner and hop over to Arch Light to catch the 9:55 showing of Valentine's Day. But wait... lines all the way out the door and a bold notice on the display saying SOLD OUT. hmmm. Proper planning was the lesson of this evening, for sure. Oh well, a nice stroll down Sunset, passing the Psychiatry Museum Of Death, which looks terribly scary yet interesting and the same time. (Note to self: come back to check it out.) Finally at La Brea and pop into CHHC for some tasty edibles and on home for some Valentine's Day passion to end what turned out to be a wonderful evening.

Isn't love grand?!
